Below is an interview by Kevin Kauzlaric with Ryan Egypt about his new book, True and Rich: Journey of How I Found Myself, Success & Inner Peace.
Kevin: What inspired you to write the book True and Rich?
Ryan: Two things inspired me to write the book: One was that I’ve been through so many things in my life that I’ve kept inside and never really spoke about, but I know they were special, and what I went through made me who I am today. This leads me to the second thing that inspired me, which is to inspire, motivate and also share a lot of my business and life principles with others.
Please tell us a little bit about your background and what you are currently doing.
Well, my background is business and sales. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid. I was always looking for work from a young age, whether it was by selling CD’s, or shoveling snow, then getting into retail, helping grow my family business, opening a beverage company, and now working on a lot of international marketing and bridging the Americas and UAE.
Delving into your book now, who would benefit most from your book?
Anyone that is looking to get more out of life, improve their quality of life, anyone who is confused about what direction they want to go in in life and someone who wants to hear an inspiring story. A lot of people are curious – they want to know how this person got to where they are today and where his head is at. Those are the people who would benefit.
What makes your book different from other books that cover this same topic?
That’s a great question! In my book, I share a lot about my life, and it’s unique because of my age right now (I’m 28 years old right now), and what I’ve accomplished already. I cover moments from my birth through present day and it really shows you how diverse my life was and how many trials and tribulations I’ve gone through. It proves my ability to continue to be successful from a very young age until now. I still have many battles that I’m fighting with and it takes you through my life story but at the same time, teaching you some business and life principles. I share my insight, really getting into the bread and butter of things. When you read it, you feel it’s true, you can feel it through the book.
What are the most important elements, messages, or takeaways of your book that you’d like readers to know they will benefit from?
First thing: No matter what your circumstances are right now, it doesn’t matter, you can be successful. Second, surround yourself with positive people. In True and Rich, you will see how just by changing my environment, I also changed the direction of my life. It also shows what my life was like on the opposite side of the spectrum, when I was living a different lifestyle – and what happened to me. The third thing is that faith and really believing and continuing to stride for what you believe in is crucial to your success.
What is the best piece of advice from an entrepreneur you’ve ever received?
This is really tough! I have so many great pieces of advice from entrepreneurs. “Keep your brother by your side. He is your greatest asset” — Shaul Nakash of Jordache Enterprises. That has to be the best.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention to our readers?
It you have something that you are trying to pursue, or feel like you’re stuck in a certain environment or around a group of people, there is a solution. One thing I see over and over again is how difficult it can be for some people to let go or separate themselves from the pack or people they know are bad for them. Just do it and do what’s best for you. Sometimes, you just need some alone time to figure out exactly what you want. You are either going to make yourself happy or make yourself depressed, so figure out what makes you a better person, and go for it.
